Already, wow, it's the sixth day of Children Camp! Day 2, 3, 4, and 5 were packed with lots of fun. We had trips to local sights (an old fort, and a church) on the island, to a water park (where children played on slides and floated on tubes), and great workshops. Yesterday, we had "Tree of Dreams," in which children had some arts & crafts time in drawing their dreams and then hung them up on a tree (a symbol of their dreams growing and shaping in the world). After that, children had a cultural night, which was lots of fun! Everyone enjoyed it tremendously. For photos, go to the camp website, www.wfdys.org/camp2010!

Second day of camp!
The second day of camp went very well, with a packed programme! First, the WFDYS hosted a mini workshop explaining about WFD, WFDYS, and human rights. The WFDYS acted out on several issues (interpreting, accessibility, right to sign language, and bilingual education), in which amused the children but at the same time, addressed important issues. After the WFDYS workshop, children enjoyed a good lunch before learning about famous deaf people in history, led by Aliza from France. Afterwards, everyone headed to the beach for games, and contests, before turning in for dinner and an early bedtime as tomorrow brings another full day of fun!
