THE 21st WFDYS BOARD MEETING IN HONG KONG, CHINA
The WFDYS Board members traveled to Hong Kong, China, for the 21st WFDYS Board meeting, 30 November – 6 December.
The WFDYS Board also got an opportunity to meet the newly elected board members of the WFD Asia-Pacific Youth Section and we are looking forward to continuing the fruitful working relationship.
During the first two days, we hosted Youth Leadership Training Workshop for deaf youth participants from Hong Kong, Philippines and China. The training focused on activities of the WFDYS and the importance of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD). We also discussed about the youth advocacy work and the development of the Global Youth Movement. The participants were given opportunity to think about advocating for better Deaf Education, Accessibility and Sign Language on local and global levels.
