By now you would have seen a number of posts celebrating International Week of the Deaf. Today my message is for our seniors. Our seniors are really our language models. As young people we look up to them and in turn we can then give back to younger generations. It is not only language that is passed down through generations but also history, experiences and strategies for advocacy all of which help to preserve our community and culture. So it is our senior deaf community members to whom we pay respect and gratitude. May we and the WFDYS continue their legacy.
