Celebrating the International Week of the Deaf which will be this full week of September (23-29 September). Today is the Sign Language Rights for All Children – let’s watch what our secretary, Ashley say.

Sign language rights for all. Today the focus of our message is for children. Did you know that as many as 95% of deaf children around the world do not have access to a full sign language? This leads to impoverished access to education.

The WFDYS is here to represent the youth of today by lending a voice to make change in this situation to enable deaf children to access their national sign language and also their national written language. Having both languages will enable deaf children to access their own education more completely.

After all, these deaf children are our future.
