The main aim of the WFDYS is to advocate the human rights of deaf youth in the world. Our aims are in accordance with those of the WFD. The WFDYS follow an "Action Plan 2007-2011" that was approved by the delegates at the 2007 Youth General Assembly. The Action Plan determines our aims and the direction of our work for the next four years. Some of the specified aims are: Establish a Youth Liaison Officer within the WFD; work with the WFD on developing illustrated and signed "Human Rights for Deaf Children and Youth" toolkit; to expand Youth Ordinary Members; establish Youth Regional Sections with WFD Regional Secretariats; continue to work with camp organising committees in running successful camps; develop a resource handbook (both written and signed) on how to establish a youth organisation or a section; distribute surveys; host more fundraising events; and continue to inspire Deaf Youth.
